GIANT LEAP, THE PLAY:
The first review is in for the play Giant Leap, in which I act, and Edinburgh Festival Magazine says:
“The casting is a success, with each actor giving a convincing performance of their well suited roles… Definitely worth a watch.” Read about it here.
Okay, I am not named in the review but I am not criticised either. An accomplishment, I’d say, as this is the first play I have acted in in 41 years. The play Giant Leap at the Pleasance Theatre stars Tom Stade and Phil Nichol. It is an honor to be alongside them. Buy a ticket.
MY SHOW AT THE EDINBURGH FESTIVAL:
I got my first review for my solo show at Edinburgh by Broadway Baby…
“Schaffer has refined being unsuccessful in to an art form and so he’s bound to remedy this unexpected success somehow. I can’t wait to see how he fucks up next. ★★★★” Read it here.
Buy a ticket here for Lewis Schaffer is Free until Famous, £5 at Just the Tonic Community Project. It’s at 17:35 (5:35PM) and runs to end of August.
NEW YORK WRITES ABOUT ME:
My old friend Jon Hart penned a piece for the prestigious New York Observer “Can Lewis Schaffer once New York’s biggest comedy barker play abroad?”
“No one, audiences and fellow comedians included, knew what to make of Lewis, whether he was a freak, fairy or fraud or all of the aforementioned. It didn’t matter. He had the hooligans howling, and he seemed to make everyone a little bit more open minded.”
MORE STUFF ABOUT ME:
My show was listed among the nine most-exciting shows to at the Fringe by the Evening Standard. Click here to read.
A lovely piece in this month’s Living South Magazine about me. Click here.
I am asked by The List of Scotland a number of questions. It is readable so click here.
Come see me in the play Giant Leap at the Pleasance Theatre, Edinburgh.
REPORT: SAVE SOUTHWARK WOODS:
Southwark Council has just gone to planning permission to cut down the woods in Camberwell Old and New Cemetery. In August, when they think no one is watching the ball.
We are going to ask you to write the Council a letter and maybe ask you to chain yourself to a tree. Okay, not going to ask you to do the tree part but that is just to remind you that writing a letter isn’t all that much work.
