NB: THIS POST COULD BE A MESS. This post was due to be published on Thursday but my internet access went down. I could have had some access if the people at Sky had told me my computer did have an ethernet port and if the proper diagnostic tests were done on Friday morning. Horrible experience with Sky Broadband. Luckily, I won’t have to pay for the days the service is down!
1 PM Monday January 2015 Nunhead Heights
I HELP CREATE GREAT RADIO:
Monday, comic, tv and radio star Mark Steel was on my Nunhead American Radio with Nunhead environmentalist Blanche Cameron. This was our best show ever, even surpassing the one we did with Stewart Lee and Nunhead Crooner Billie Brindle. Jokes, music and social importance buried in silliness.
My radio show was described as “funnier than those radio shows that try to be funny.” Listen to this week’s show with Mark Steel, and then listen to the show with Stewart Lee. (29 minutes of radio)
AND WATCH MARK STEEL PLAY PIANO WITH THE RELATIVES. “Schaffer Territory: Nunhead Heights” on YouTube. BRILLIANT. (2 minutes of video).
See The Relatives February 13, 2015 at the Night of the Loving Dead Fundraiser For Resonance FM. Click here for information.
Our next radio show will be tonight Monday, January 26th, 2015 630PM UK-time (and then repeated Saturday 11:30am) UK-time. Scheduled guests were comic Prince Abdi, from ITV’s “Show Me The Funny” but he just called and told me he was in the hospital and sedated. Not making that up. Local Rhoda Odoniboye who runs a “silent book reading party” at The Ivy House in Nunhead hasn’t cancelled yet. For more stuff on our radio, go to our Nunhead American Radio page.
I AM A FANTASTIC LIVE PERFORMER:
Lewis Schaffer, International Man of Misery, my solo show, returns at the usual time of 6PM Sundays at the Leicester Square Theatre London. I am funny. Please come and see me. January 25th, 2015.
I CARE ABOUT THE WORLD:
I have a small part in the new “Save Southwark Woods” campaign to have Camberwell Old and New Cemeteries declared Nature Reserves.
Anne Stanesby, who I met as a Friend of Peckham Rye Park, and Blanche Cameron helped form the new Save Southwark Woods campaign. The council wants to cut down acres of woods to bury THOUSANDS of dead people. Email Anne at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell her you want to help save the woods. Follow us on @southwarkwoods on twitter. We have a facebook page, too, like that. And a nascent web page: SaveSouthwarkWoods.org.uk. Come to the meeting on February 11th.
And I am on tour:
Go to my website and see the dates for Lewis Schaffer is Free until Famous Tour 2015. Next stop: Windsor Friday January 30! New date in Workington, Cumbria 13 March. More dates to come, I hope. Please world, keep going so I can be a comic.
OH, A VIDEO FROM THE STEWART LEE SHOW:
And watch and listen YouTube. “Bet He Wishes He Was Stewart Lee (And So Do We.” (90 seconds) and all the other videos by The Relatives, our house band.
That’s all folks for now!
